How I Came to Love Harry Potter I had heard about the Harry Potter series before I read the book, but since they were found under the children’s
section and were several hundred pages long at a time when my kids were small, I passed by that “weird kid with the
glasses.” Then, my son entered second grade and the teacher sent home a note explaining she would be reading the books
to the class and there was nothing evil about them. My curiosity was piqued and I bought my son the first book, so he could
follow along to increase his reading skills. Remembering his teacher’s note (Thanks, Tina!), I started thumbing through
the book wondering what could be evil about that skinny kid. I immediately was swept into Harry’s life and followed
him through his adventure. I have happily followed him out of his cupboard to Diagon Alley and to Hogwarts. Thanks to J.K.
Rowlings’ superb writing skills, me and both of my children are Potter fanatics.
